They provide patients with options when playing sport, high prescriptions & wider fields of view, help with myopia control and sometimes people just like to wear contacts socially or just get a break from their spectacles.

Types of Contact Lenses

Previously you may have been restricted with contact lens options if you had a particular eye condition. But now with huge advancements in the contact lens industry, most spectacle wearers should have the option of wearing contact lens also.

Varifocals:

Multifocal contact lenses ensure that patients can have to option to start/continue contact lenses even if they require varifocals. The new technology in modern contact lenses means patients can now see at all distances. These lenses are available in daily/monthly options

Astigmatism:

Toric contact lenses correct for astigmatism at a much broader range of prescriptions than previously.

We Supply the following Contact Lens types:

Daily Disposable Lenses:
With daily disposable lenses, you put in a fresh set of lenses each time and you throw the lenses out after each wear. They come in a saline solution and there’s no need to worry about cleaning the lenses with solution. They are a good choice for first time wearers as they require very little care

Monthly Lenses:
With these lenses, once you open the packet, they must be disposed of exactly 30 days later. Within the month you must take them out at night to clean and store the lenses in solution. We recommend that your eyes get a lens free break at least 1 day a week.

2 Weekly Lenses:
With these lenses, once you open the packet, they must be disposed of exactly 14 days later. Within the 2 weeks you must take them out at night to clean and store the lenses in solution. We recommend that your eyes get a lens free break at least 1 day a week.

RGPs (Rigid Gas Permeable) Lenses:
These are “hard” lenses that allow oxygen through to the cornea. They are “made to measure” contact lenses, which can be ordered in many materials and prescriptions. They require a rigorous cleaning regime, which if followed the lenses are replaced on an annual basis.
